About My Visa Forms

My Visa Forms was established by a multi-cultural couple that has already been through the visa process. We learned a lot on our journey, and we want to share our learnings and experience with you.

Lesson 1 - Save your money
The first and biggest lesson we learned is that we didn't need to spend thousands upon thousands of dollars in attorney fees. Oh, believe us when we say that there were several attorneys ready to charge us TONS OF MONEY to prepare our application and supporting forms. But that was not necessary.
While we do recommend consulting with an attorney about your individual circumstances, it is NOT necessary to pay an attorney to complete the forms. Each form comes with thorough instructions that are straight-forward and can be completed by you. Save your money to pay the filing fees that are required with your completed package. Then once your package is ready, find a reputable, knowledgeable immigration attorney to REVIEW your package with you. This is a service that should be available for a fee of between $50 and $200 dollars.

Lesson 2 - Be patient
The second biggest lesson we learned is that this process takes awhile. You must be patient. Following the events of 9/11 in 2001, the United States has continued to exercise caution in the area of immigration. Each package will be carefully reviewed to insure that you are who you say you are, and not an individual with ill intentions.

Lesson 3 - Be thorough and honest in your application
The best way to speed along your application process is to turn in a complete and well-prepared package. If you don't complete all of the sections of the forms, or if you don't provide all the additional information requested, it will only serve to delay your petition, and cause the service center to write you for more documentation. Avoid delays by being thorough.
In our guide, we give you tips on exactly how to prepare your completed package, specifically how to mail the documents, and how to check on the package once it is submitted.
